June 4, 2011 UPWA usually holds its annual Spring River Cleanup the first Saturday after Memorial Day. This year volunteers picked up 75+ bags of garbage! Buck Bradford’s barbeque brisket absolutely made the picnic that followed the Cleanup at the Jamie Koch pavilion. A special thanks to Roark Griffin for providing the entertainment. |

February 26, 2010 The first Pecos Canyon Collaborative Meeting (PCCM) was held at the UPWA office in Pecos. The main goals of the meeting were to remedy the lack of coordination between various agencies working to improve conditions in the Pecos and to establish a precedent of working together to maximize all efforts. Present were representatives from the NM Dept. of Game & Fish, US Forest Service, NM DOT, NMENV Surface Water Quality Bureau, San Miguel County, Pecos National Historical Park, the Village of Pecos, Ecosphere, La Calandria & Associates, Truchas Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Pecos Community Foundation. The PCCM continues to be held every other month.
