The Upper Pecos Watershed Association has realized  numerous accomplishments since its formation in June of 2006.  To name just a few, UPWA authored a “Watershed Restoration Action Strategy” (WRAS) in 2007 and commissioned a comprehensive report on the “Impact of Recreational Use on Water Quality in the Pecos River”.  The “Impact Report” was prepared by Dave Johnson of  Nelson Consulting in Farmington, New Mexico. UPWA continues to hold Spring Cleanups and sponsors Dia del Rio (a community celebration of the Pecos River).
